Remove blank pages from PDF
Duplex scanners leave a blank back behind every one-sided sheet. Open the scan, press Find blank pages, check the red pages in the preview and save a clean copy. Detection runs in your browser.

Getting the sensitivity right
| Your blank pages look like | Try |
|---|---|
| Clean white pages from a digital export | 0.05–0.2% |
| Scanned blanks with a little dust or a page number | 0.4% (default) |
| Thin paper with show-through from the other side | 1–3%, then check that no light text pages got selected |
The slider updates the selection instantly once the pages have been checked once. Whatever it selects, you have the final say: tap any page to keep or drop it. To delete pages by number instead, use remove pages.
Questions about blank pages
How do I remove blank pages from a PDF?
Open the PDF, press "Find blank pages", check the pages it selected in the preview, adjust if needed, and press Split PDF. You get a copy without the blank pages.
How does SplitPDF decide a page is blank?
Each page is rendered small in your browser and the share of dark pixels is counted, ignoring a thin border where scanner edges and punch holes usually sit. Pages under the sensitivity threshold (0.4% ink by default) are selected. It's plain pixel counting, not AI, and nothing is uploaded.
Why was a nearly blank page not detected?
Scanned "blank" pages often carry show-through from the other side, a page number or a faint grey tint. Raise the sensitivity slider until those pages are selected, or tap them yourself.
Can it delete a page that only has a page number on it?
Usually yes at the default sensitivity, because a page number covers far less than 0.4% of the page. Check the preview: pages with a single short line of text may also be selected and should be untapped if you want to keep them.
